The first installment of the Eternal Eyes of Gzemnid is here!
There are a LOT of directions I could’ve taken the Eternal Eyes, and it was certainly difficult to choose (I even got some help from Reddit!) Ultimately, I decided that since they were the eyes of the formerly-mortal Gzemnid itself and meant to contain remnants of the deity’s knowledge and apotheosis, they should be related to what this “Tyrant of tyrants” believes in and fears, as well as beholders in general.
Thus, each eye has a theme related to beholders’ mindsets – how they see reality, its divisions and important aspects. This also works well for a DM or player deciding how to roleplay using one of the Eyes, and how it might influence its wielder. Hope you like it!
I plan to do three more posts after this one this season – there will be eleven (11) Eternal Eyes, plus some extra bits at the end for related rules to enhance the use of them in your games. Happy Spooky Season!
